10 Tips When Eating Out on a Diet
The vast majority of us like to eat out, but when you are on a diet it's hard to be able to do this and not over-eat on things that aren't the best for you. Here are a few tips to make life a little easier when you do decide to go out to eat:
1. Portion control trick you can use.
When going to a salad bar, fill your plate with everything- including dessert- that you want to eat. If you go back for seconds then you are more likely to over-eat.
2. Salad dressings can add on more calories than you may think.
Ask for your dressings and sauces on the side.
3. Restaurants tend to add more flavor with butter.
Ask for steamed or grilled vegetables without butter or oil. For flavor add red pepper flakes or other seasonings.
4. Stay away from deep fried anything.
Try baked, roasted or broiled rather than fried.
5. Eat your calories, don't drink them.
Drink water or tea instead of sugary alcoholic drinks or dessert drinks.
6. Indulge in moderation.
Share a dessert with someone rather than eating it all yourself.
7. Restaurants size up their meals.
If portions are large, immediately ask for a take-out dish and put half of the meal away.
8. Avoid "all-you-can-eat" places.
Buffets are not good for you if you don't watch your portions. You may end up eating more then you need because you think of the value rather than how much you're eating.
9. Careful with the excess carbs.
Skip the appetizer if the only thing available involves creamy dips, fried foods, or strictly bread products.
10. Slow down and enjoy your meals with others.
Eat slowly and take your time, and once you're done don't pick at it. Either cover it with your napkin or ask for a take-out plate. It will be less tempting if you can't see it.

Love all these suggestions, thanks for making them so concise and memorable.
Another one that I've found works well for me: Many restaurants let you add a side of salad for a small extra charge, even if you have another side, eat the salad first, the watery content will help you feel full, so you can put more of your other side aside for snacking later on.
I am very happy how my body is shaping up – it looks firmer, my posture is improved, and I feel more in shape. My husband and son both commented that they really see the difference. I am less tired, sleeping better, and more hopeful and focused. My confidence and self-esteem has improved, and I worry less and enjoy life more. Thank you for everything! http://if1s.com?112
