The plummeting economy is not only getting media attention. The runways did a great job of reminding us things are well, sucky. Diesel took that notion to the extreme by creating a Depression Era-inspired beauty look with, you guessed it, a contemporary rock and roll feel. Brick burgundy lips looked worn-out though still alluring. The eyes were thickly lined in coal black and metallic black eye shadow to create a strung out messy look. It paired up perfectly with the season collection.
Hair styles were just as zany. This was far beyond the “My hair is messy on purpose” look however. In fact it was almost zombie-like. The eye-catching hairdo was ultra big, frizzy, and manic-like. The style-creator, Eugene Souleiman called it the “Fall of the Empire” look based on “The fall of someone glamorous.” My guess is it probably won’t become a huge trend this year, but you can take an element from it and create your own look.
