Truth About Height vs. Weight

heightvsweight_01.jpg

Have you ever been on a diet? Why? Gain weight? Yeah right. Gain muscle? Maybe. Lose weight? Most likely. But how do you know what your ideal weight is supposed to be? Growing up I was always considered overweight or obese according to those charts that supposedly tell you what your ideal weight is, and what the highest weight you should be for your height. To tell you the truth, I still have a hard time with the fact that I am higher than what is considered healthy.

The difference between then and now, and what I hope you take from this is that it is all about what your body works best at. It's about making sure that your organs can operate the way they are supposed to, your heart doesn't have to overwork, and there isn't unnecessary strain on your joints. If you have more muscle mass than someone else that is your same height, you will most likely weigh more. If you have an overall larger frame or bust size then you could weigh more.

Don't rely on the doctors chart that has been generalized for the average person. Go by how you feel and how your body is functioning - heart rate, blood pressure, etc...
