For me shaving is a love/hate relationship. I want to be smooth and hair free, but shaving is time consuming, repetitive, and causes nicks and cuts. I hated shaving and skewed towards waxing and depilatories to stay hair free until I tried Gillette Venus, the original. This was the smoothest shave I've had by far. So when waxing was out of the question the Gillette Venus was my friend. That was until I discovered the new Gillette Venus Embrace. When I looked at this razor my first thought was this is just another razor re-designed and re-marketed to make more sales, but was I surprised by how good the razor really was.
The Product
Gillette's Venus Embrace has 5 thin blades. I assumed this wasn't going to do much, but 5 blades makes it the smoothest shave I've ever had and it was the closest shave too! The Embrace is also very light weight, weighing less than the original, making it easier to shave my legs quickly.
The Packaging
Although it's very similar to the original Venus, the Embrace razor's packaging houses the razor and a cute little shower pod that holds acouple razor refills. The design of the little caddy is great because of it round shape, which can be secured to the shower wall with suction cups. It has yet to fall off the wall and it can be moved to another location unlike a holder that has an adhesive backing that leaves the sticky part behind.
Overall
This is by far the best razor I've used. It gives me the closest and smoothest shave I've ever had. The best way to describe it is like getting your first cell phone. You didn't know how much you needed one until you had one of your own and now you can't live with out it.
