Eco-friendly everything is cropping up by the minute. From bamboo bed sheets to organic Japanese jeans, everyone is looking to get in on the green wagon. Nvey is a makeup brand that has been around well before the green curve, and now that the trend is taking off, they’ve expanded their line to include super rich moisturizing mascaras, and gorgeous lip glosses that make your lips look plush and shiny, minus the obnoxious sticky feeling that you get from standard lip products. The color selections limited, but when going green, most women are opting for a natural look that doesn’t scream MAC drag queen. While the lip glosses may boast intense colors like Temptress (which shows up as a very saturated magenta on the company’s site swatch), the colors are very soft and sheer. Layering is an option, but don’t expect to get a full-blown made up mouth from this stuff. The lipstick provides more coverage than the gloss, but it still harbors on the soft side while containing ingredients like jojoba and orange oils, and beeswax.
Unlike most other organic beauty brands, Nvey is now stocked by Sephora...it’s online only, but still, it’s a start. Nvey products are approved organic by a third party (and it’s not the USDA, thank god!) and is completely paraben, talc, and cruelty-free. With a background like that, your skin will glow like it used to when you were a kid.
